The mouth to Bass Strait is visible from the front of the motel. All rooms have views across the Inglis river and through to Bass Strait. Whether stormy or clear, the view is spectacular at any time. This sunrise was taken early one winter morning from the front of the motel. |

The Wynyard Wharf area is visible from the front of the motel and all rooms have views across the wharf area. Whilst mostly it is home to the local fishing and cray boats, it also offers temporary accommodation for visiting yachts and cruisers from travellers opting for the seas less travelled as opposed to the road. The river is home to a variety of sea birds, fish and even platypus from the nearby freshwater creek. |

The crayfish boats are based at the Wynyard wharf and go out in November in pursuit of their delicious catch. In season the Riverview Cafe & Restaurant @ The Waterfront serves some delicious crayfish meals when in season, along with fresh Tassie scallops. You can't really get any fresher can you? |

At high tide the Inglis river from the wharf area is picture postcard treat. There are numerous walks in and around Wynyard, one of the best takes you along the river banks. The river scenery changes constantly as the tide draws in and out of the river. There is a drop of almost 3 and half meters in the river in alignment to the moon's pull on the earth. At times you could just about walk on water to the other side. In summer the river is a popular venue for water skiing, kayaking and sailing. |
