NT WILD FLOWER. STURT DESERT PEA
My husband and I lived in the Northern Territory of Australia for several years. Criss-crossing the Outback, both with his work and on holidays we experienced it's true magnificence. Gigantic wind-crafted outcrops of granite and sandstone and vast ochre plains stretching to eternity to meet cobalt blue skies. The mystery of the Kimberley and Tasmania's raw wilderness, all entwined with the dense bush-lands teeming with wildlife unique to Australia.
Our interest escalated and we extended our trips into gold and gemstone-fossicking adventures, tracing the routes of explorers, and travelling the old stock routes from West to Northern Queensland. The notes I kept translated into a series of travel articles for a magazine and then, I realised what better backdrop than this sun-drenched land where legend and myth merge with reality. A place for conjuring up stories of unique blend--love up against impossible odds.
I undertook studies in creative writing, specialising in Romance, and set to work.
Writing fulfils my most cherished dream, to breathe life, love and emotion into the characters I've draw from the Outback, the people who dare to live there.
