Food Connections Tasmania

Long Lunch

food produce connections

Beuatiful Sunday afternoon, riverviews, groovey tunes from our singing duo, great local produce and cocktails- the scene was trully set for the first social gathering of Food Connections Tasmania.  The afternoon saw promoters, producers and people involved in the hospitality and food industry along the North West coast sample a seven course degustation menu featuring the bounties of the local producers.

On the menu there were free range lambs from Wild Clover Meats, Salmon from 42 degrees south salmon farm, and an opportunity to try a relatively rare breed of pig, Wessex saddleback freerange pigs from Mt Gnomon farm.  Washed down with some fine wines from Velo wines in the Tamar, it was hard to get these guys out of the door!

By the end of the 7th course, there were visible sighs of delight that no more was forth coming from the kitchen, as there simply was no room for anything more.

Menu for the Day (Yes we really did eat all of it!)
